St. Jude Childern’s Hospital Fundraiser
September is the time of year when the Elementary focuses their attention on the kids of St. Jude’s Hospital. Our students are raising money to support the child cancer patients at St. Jude’s Hospital. St. Jude never requires a parent to pay for the treatment their child receives. They depend on school’s like ours to help provide finances. The math-a-thon program gives our students the opportunity to raise money around our communities and also stretch their brains by completing a math booklet with age-appropriate math problems. As a school, we have been able to raise almost $20,000 to donate to St. Judes over the last 12 years.
On Friday, October 13th we celebrated “Kiss Cancer Goodnight” day. All the children wore their pajamas and for every dollar that they brought with them to donate to St. Jude, they received a Hershey Kiss. We also held an assembly in the afternoon to learn more about St. Jude.
